LIFE STILL AHEAD
When Life Changes, There is Still a Life Ahead to Create
LIFE STILL AHEAD is being developed for people navigating the space between what life was—and what comes next.
It grew from my own experience of rebuilding after profound loss. But my experience is only one experience. If LIFE STILL AHEAD is going to become something genuinely useful to others, it cannot be built around my experience alone.
I need to understand yours.
Here is mine. ↓
WHY I’M BUILDING THIS
Sometimes life changes before we are ready for it.
I know this space because I have lived it.
After my beloved, Pete, died suddenly, I found myself in a life I had never expected to be living. The future I thought I knew was gone.
I tried traditional grief programs. I understood what they were offering, but I also knew it wasn’t what I needed. The harder part was that I couldn’t have told you what I needed instead. I only knew there was something I wasn’t finding.
Even surrounded by people who loved me, I often felt incredibly alone and misunderstood.
Eventually, I began asking a different question: What still matters to me now?
WHAT I FOUND ALONG THE WAY
I didn't find one answer. I began finding pieces.
I didn’t suddenly know what I needed. But I challenged myself to contribute to life again—to find what mattered to me and give something of myself to it.
I built Pete’s Pulse in Pete’s memory. I wrote Oh, How You Sparkle! for my granddaughter. Both gave me something meaningful to create and a reason to engage with life again. But I had to ask myself: What about someone who doesn’t have the background or resources to create a legacy program or publish a book?
Not everyone will find their way forward the way I did. They shouldn’t have to.
That became the idea behind LIFE STILL AHEAD: creating opportunities for people to discover what helps them move forward—not prescribing what that should look like.
